THE CLAREVILLE BAKERY  -  Eyes on the Pies
Mike & Rose Kloeg - Clareville Bakery
The Clareville Bakery is all about good food – time-honoured techniques mixed with locally-sourced wholesome ingredients and more than a pinch of flair.

The artisanal side of the business came about, co-owner Mike Kloeg (pictured with co-owner Rose Kloeg ) says, while he was overseas and was asked to make his signature Hot Cross buns. “I couldn’t make them without using premade mixes, which is how I was trained,, so I decided that was it – from then on I would only use basic ingredients, without the use of additives and preservatives, so I could bake anywhere.”

Baking in Clareville is working especially well - since opening in 2013, the Bakery’s growth has increased by over 20% each year, going from strength to strength.

SIX BARREL SODA CO  -  Fizzical Attraction
Josep Slater - Six Barrel Soda Co
Six Barrel Soda is out to build the craft soda industry, according to MD Joseph Slater (pictured). “We see a future where people will drink less, but better soda,” he says. “And we want to be the first soda choice for consumers who expect more from their products.”

The company is growing well with a rebrand in 2016 for the evolving range of creative syrups and sodas as well as new distribution channels and regions requiring an upgraded production space later this year.

Six Barrel uses real and mostly organic ingredients, making drinks that are less sweet and more delicious than the big bottle sodas.

Independently owned and Wellington based, the company now distributes its drinks across NZ, Australia, Hong Kong and more international markets soon.
