Coastlands Aquatic Centre is a stunning new state of the art facility catering for all ages and aquatic abilities. Opening in 2013, the centre uses the latest technology in pool design and is the first aquatic centre in Australasia to have a translucent roof, which reduces energy costs and creates the feeling of being in an outdoor pool.

"Originally designed as a competition pool for water sports, the pool has a movable floor over four lanes that provides shallow water space for public opening hours and goes down to 2.2m providing full depth for swimming competitions and other water sports. The remainder of the pool (6 lanes) is permanently 2.4m deep” explains Aquatic Facilities Manager Alison Law.

A sessionalised timetable effectively creates leisure space within the competition facility, making Coastlands Aquatic Centre the first choice for family leisure as well as catering for the serious swimmer.

Last year there were 23,242 Hydrolide passes sold, 10,457 keen people took Aquafit classes, over 500 learnt to swim and total attendance was just under 220,000.
