The Wellington Chocolate Factory makes organic, ethically traded, bean to bar chocolate of the highest quality right in the heart of central Wellington. They say you haven’t lived until you’ve sampled a genuine Peruvian Criollo hot chocolate made with beans fresh from the roasting oven.

2014 was their first full year in business. “It was a runaway train,” co-founder Rochelle Harrison (left) says. “Our sales took off at astonishing speed, and one of our main challenges was simply making enough chocolate to meet demand!” In fact, during peak sales period of Xmas 2014, WCF sold out of all their produced and stockpiled.

Rochelle and co-founder Gabe Davidson (right) with their growing team produce a range of single-origin and speciality chocolates: nine major chocolate flavour bars – each with individually designed wrappers from New Zealand artists.

Last year WCF took on 90 wholesale partners across New Zealand including Moore Wilsons, Farro Fresh, Commonsense Organics and Ballantynes.
