Student Job Search AotearoaKay Nelson
Finalist: Supporting Gold

Student Job Search (SJS) has been helping tertiary students into jobs since 1982. Last year 27,643 students found employment nationally, nearly 6000 of those in Wellington.

“We approach the market differently to other match-making agencies,” CE Kay Nelson says. “Nearly all our roles are semi-permanent, part time and casual, and we have a defined target group of job seekers – tertiary students – so we advertise roles that offer study-related experience as well as income.”

SJS is a free service for both employers and students, is owned by the University Students Associations and is funded by the Ministry of Social Development.

In a recent customer satisfaction survey, 91% of both employers and students were satisfied or highly satisfied with the SJS service.
