A joint venture between Le Cordon Bleu International and local tertiary institutions WelTec and UCOL, Le Cordon Bleu New Zealand Institute first opened for business in Wellington in 2012.

The School operates from a $13 million purpose-built facility in Lower Cuba Street in the heart of downtown Wellington. The primary goal of the School is to provide skilled, passionate, culinary graduates for the hospitality industry of the future. LCBNZI offers a three-year Bachelor of Culinary Arts and Business as well as ten week certificate courses at Basic, Intermediate and Superior levels specializing in Cuisine and Pâtisserie.

Since 2012 LCBNZI has beenattracting ever-increasing numbers of students from around the globe to satisfy the demands for skilled graduates for the Hospitality Industry both here and overseas.

The number of annual enrolments has grown exponentially, says GM Jenny Jenkins. “We opened in 2012 with 25 students and this year we have just under 150, up 50% on last year’s numbers. It is anticipated that a newly developed innovative Advanced Culinary Diploma will only attract even more interest from international and domestic students.
